pro-Thaksin website blocked

Thai web censorship
Yesterday, the Bangkok Post reported that a new pro-Thaksin website, hi-thaksin.net, was being investigated by MICT. Their report quotes ICT Minister Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom as follows: "If this internet website is set up legally, we have no authority to take legal action against it. But if it's illegal, our legal experts will submit a report to police for them to consider action".

The website features a webcam message from Thaksin in which he calls for a return to democracy in Thailand. Surprise, surprise: today it has been blocked. A mirror site, hi-thaksin.org, is also blocked. The blocking of these sites seems intermittent, though.

Another pro-Thaksin site, hi-comrade.com, is also reportedly under investigation; this domain name doesn't seem to exist, though there is a blog at hicomrade.wordpress.com which posts information about Thaksin's activities.
